Ya'all know this thing we've been callin' "Dinner"? Yea, some folks call it
"Supper", but it's all the same.
Well, we're
gonna quit that "dinner" foolishness altogether because, frankly, by the end of summer... after puttin in an 8-8, 8 day
a week schedule...
...well, it'll be easier to tell the story in pictures.
Let's go there together, shall we?
After this
last summer was over...
It felt like
we were either RUNNIN' one of these or just needed to move into one.
Permanently.
Frankly, we had some customers who thought it was ok to act like this.
AND - it left us all feelin' a whole lot like this.
(Folks, this is an actual picture of me taken
when I got home one night. Shocking, isn't it?)
Even the "normal" things
just somehow
STRANGELY
just didn't seem right.
Maybe it was all the stress of the long endless hours? I still don't
know. It's just that "normal"
just wasn't "normal" anymore.
See what I mean?
It was
craaazy!
We built it, and they came--and they KEPT coming!Streams of folks
in oversized gas guzzlers searching the countryside with the same frantic
thought..."There HAS to be a Starbucks out here somewhere!" That's when they'd
find us.
They came with pampered
children.
Pampered pets.
Bejeweled fingers & toes.
With new-fangled, high-tech gear & gadgetry
clenched tightly shoulder to ear.
Truth be told, at times our idealistic country life & latest available
local technology simply can't cut the mustard with some
city folks. But we try ;)

Needless to say,
things quickly
spiraled
out of control!
So...by the end of summer,
I had but one (ok two) thoughts:
1: They must make pills for this
2.
SHHTOP! Shtop the madness!!
So, we did what every Norman
Rockwell-ish American family would do:
We sat down together as a family and had a nice, friendly discussion on
the matter.
We respectfully took turns talking & listened carefully to each others
feelings
& thoughts on the matter.
Ok, If you
believe all THAT, then you'd believe that afterward we all had popcorn & watched reruns of I Love Lucy & The Andy Griffith Show!
Unfortunately, we've come to the agreement that the old adage is true:
Somethin's gotta give! So - we've decided to forego the dinners for
Summer 2008 and see if we end up any more sane than we were last year.
We'll keep ya'all posted. Thanks for the understanding and support!
