I love the true "Norman
Rockwell-ism" of these pictures. We're tryin' to preserve as much of that
as we can here at Blueberry Hills.
The old house is still down at the bottom of the property
that Blueberry Hills is built on. Gramma & Grampa are Paul & Carol Peters of Manson. We lost
Grampa about 2 1/2 years ago -- believe it or not - he had an accident
in his old shed. We miss him & think about him every day. Mom put up
a huge picture of him in the Barn. She also put one of Gramma next to
it. Gramma said "Hey - what'd ya' do that fer?! I'm not dead yet -
'n don't RUSH me! She's a hoot.

Grampa's First Deer
One of my favorite pictures of Grampa as a young man. He's so proud
here. This was the biggest deer ever shot in these 'here parts. It was
1943. This was his first deer. We've got that too. Unceremoniously
hangin' in the barn with some of Grampa's hats on the horns.

Gramma's First Dishwasher
Linda, Donna & Joan.
Back when kids were expected to help out. Mom said Donna had those
sharp little elbows. She'd elbow her way in and git the "good
job" in the middle. Brat! :) She grew out of that ;)

Grampa & Tiny
Grampa totally loved animals - dogs most of all. He'd let the
irrigation water drip in the orchards for the neiborhood dogs to get
a drink. He'd even get charged a "water overage" for goin' over his
limit - but he never cared.
He actually had this one neighbor
dog, Buck, a huge german shephard, that would chase Grampa down on
when he was on he motorcycle. Believe it or NOT that dog wanted ON!
Grampa would ride him on the seat between his legs - Buck would put
his paws up on the handlebars -- they BOTH loved it. I have
pictures.

Linda & the Red Jeep
Mom learned to drive in this jeep. I think she was about that age too!
I still have the keys and license plates to it. Grampa kept
everything! (But I think I mentioned that!) :)

Donna Jean's
"Birthday Glasses"
That
Philco in the background still works.
We're using it to display jam in the
Barn.
Still got the price tag inside of it too. No kiddin'.

Oven mitts.
Not just fer' bakin' anymore.
Them'r baby skunks in Gramma's oven
mitts. They weren't supposed to stink at that age -- but look at my
Aunt Donna's face. :) It was obviously a myth.

Snow Play on Washington
Street
Grampa & the girls (Mom's right
behind him) sleddin' down Washington Street... right beside where our
blueberries are planted now.
Cool, huh?

Linda Kay Peters
Mom's 2nd grade picture.
She graduated from Manson High
School back in '65.
She & Dad got married when Mom turned 18. Gramma wasn't sure he was
much of a keeper cuz when they started dating, Dad came over to make
pizza. He cooked the hamburger & poured the grease down the kitchen
sink. Gramma 'bout belted 'em! He actually became a really
good cook! And a great son-in-law!

Serious Scoutin'
Dad (right) and his best friend, George
Hubbard, in high school. They were Eagle Scouts & real serious
'bout it. Look at aaaall them patches!
These 2 were notorious. As an example,
they put baby skunks in peoples mailboxes. Always creatin' a ruckus!
Still do.
(See. I come by it naturally!) :)
Graduated form Manson in '62.

that?!?! :) How did they ever live to be grown-ups?!
I don't know about YOU, but I'd kind'a like to have one'a them kiddie
